Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and founded in 2019 by Pat Derkacz, IXXI Engineering aims to bring quality aftermarket products to the Aircooled Porsche community.

Pat holds Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA. He worked in the Oil and Gas industry for 8 years doing research and development where he gained extensive knowledge in design, prototyping, testing, and product commercialization. He has over 100 patents granted in his name from the innovative designs that he helped develop there. He now works developing eco-friendly precious metal recovery systems.

When not working on automotive related projects, Pats hobbies include: Coffee (and all the equipment that goes with it), Craft Beer, Scotch, Camping, Cycling, and Skiing. On the side, he stays continually busy with various projects ranging from mechanical to electrical, and software/firmware. IXXI Engineering was born from his desire to constantly develop new things.

Pat and his wife, Katie, share a love of cars and spend time modifying them together. They own two daily drivers, a Audi A4 Avant (B8) and Mercedes E400 Estate (S212). Their “fun” cars consist of a Porsche Carrera 4 (964), 1.8T Swapped VW Cabrio (MK1), VW Caddy (MK1), and a VW Westfalia (T2B). They have two children who are already share their parents love of German automobiles.

We strive to keep jobs within Canada, and thus most parts sold by IXXI Engineering are designed, developed and manufactured here.
